Joel has more than 20 years of leadership experience in curriculum and education technology product development, and spent years as an elementary school teacher.
Before joining Age of Learning he was Director of Product Management at McGraw-Hill Education, overseeing development of its K–8 intervention curriculum. Prior to that, Joel was Executive Editor at educational publisher Zaner-Bloser, directing product development of its K–6 reading curriculum; Associate Publisher at National Geographic School Publishing, leading the development and production of ESL/ELA instructional materials; and Associate Director of Reading/Language Arts at Harcourt School Publishers, focusing on Early Childhood. He began his career teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in Santa Ana, California.
